Summary of the role:
The Director Finance EMEAIR is reporting directly to the VP Europe with a dotted line to the VP Finance Global. He or she will maintain overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the business unit strategy and is expected to provide financial analysis and implement recommendations based on these findings. The right person is results oriented and will be leading our Finance & Accounting teams in Europe - Middle East - India and Russia focused on accounting, consolidation, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, internal controls, statutory reporting and profitable growth.  The position will require the individual to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging work environment that will focus not only on the traditional finance & accounting function responsibilities but also bridge strategy, sales, marketing, and operations to provide strategic and tactical financial leadership.
 
 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction in the core areas of financial accounting, consolidations, internal controls statutory reporting, and compliance.   Improve monthly and quarterly close process, identify new cost analysis tools, streamline the forecasting process, provide GAAP expertise, and support providing of accounting research; 
  • Strategy: Collaborate with the senior leadership team, both of EMEA and in Hagerstown USA, on the development and execution of strategic business initiatives across EMEA;
  • FP&A:  Responsible for leading the financial forecast and annual business plan process.  Review monthly financial performance drawing attention to key variances and drivers in the reported results; 
  • Business Partnership: Provide comprehensive, end-to-end support for the EMAIR leadership team; 
  • Pricing: Lead annual price analysis and implement adjustments in a timely manner.  Review special pricing requests during the year to help bridge product supply, product demand and the competitive landscape;
  • Accounting: Responsible for all regional accounting activities ensuring the monthly financial close efforts are completed in a timely manner and with the highest level of data integrity.  Develops and ensures maintenance and adherence to global accounting and financial policies;
  • Revenue Recognition: Pro-actively and timely drive appropriate revenue recognition with the highest degree of vigilance; 
  • Compliance & Controls: Financial data integrity is the number one objective for all finance teams.  Drive the appropriate processes and controls to ensure we achieve this objective; 
  • Business Case / Ad Hoc: Perform business case analysis and support ad hoc requests as necessary.  Ability to work in vague and sometimes ambiguous situations when performing analytics that lead to a meaningful discussion and provide value add and sometimes challenging feedback;
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts within the accounting department of the company, with the objective of establishing "world-class" capabilities, processes and people;

  • 20% + international travel is required.
 
Requirements
  • Master's degree
  • MBA or CPA
  • 5-10 years of public accounting experience
  • Demonstrated success in designing and managing corporate internal controls
  • In-depth knowledge of financial operations and reporting in a global organization
  • Experience in managing large geographically dispersed culturally diverse teams in a matrix environment
  • Experience with ERP transformation processes in Finance is also a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP, Statutory Reporting, IFRS preferred
  • Experience working across multiple levels (including executive levels) functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing talent
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a complex matrix organization
  • Ability to generate alternatives and drive positive change; must be a self-starter and a change agent.
