Product Marketing Specialist

The purpose of this role is to provide machine specific and marketing deliverable material for the Aerial Work Platform (AWP) product line with the effect to serve the sales customer and ultimately increase our sales volumes. This involves for example supporting sales teams with product specific tasks, with systems; getting into the Marketing aspect of marketing deliverables, checking specifications and aligning systems with product specifications.  This position will have frequent contact with (Inside) Sales, Marketing, external customers and Engineering departments colleagues locally and globally, Service Technicians and the AWP Product Manager. This position has some national and international travel involved.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops product marketing tools to assist in the sales process. Serves the sales team and customers as a product information resource
  • Maintains product specifications, proposals and other technical data pertaining to product sales.
  • Compiles and records competitive information in a manner which can be utilized to develop product strategies to increase market share and contribution margins (testing the equipment, analyzing the technical aspects, 4/5 x per year)
  • Communicate technical information in a comprehensive language and is able to present this well to internal and external customers
  • Delivers training designed to improve the performance of the sales team on new products of product innovations
  • Conducts research to support trade-off decisions throughout the product life cycle
  • Generates desired information to support the analysis of line extensions and/or new products to fuel the product planning process
  • Generates internal data and collects external data to validate program effectiveness, product quality and content, and changing customer requirements -- and organizes corrective actions.
  • Attends trade shows and seminars as required
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities necessary for the achievement of the sales and market share objectives
  • Works closely with the marketing communications team to develop literature, advertisements, promotional materials, web pages and photography to maximize communication effectiveness

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or Engineering (either at University or HBO level)
  • 1 - 4 years of experience in related field with at least some experience in Marketing. Related experience can be e.g. Product Marketing, Sales, Product Training or Engineering.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of other European languages is advantageous. Fluency in Dutch is a big plus.
  • Creative, analytical skills, independent, good communicator
  • Able and willing to travel and drive a car
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment/machinery or automotive/vehicle technologies is advantageous
  • Power Point / Excel knowledge
  • Independent- pro- active
