Currently we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Specialist based in Genk (Belgium):

SUMMARY
  • Performing product support assignments to assist customers (CAT and Caterpillar Dealers) with the support of CAT Telehandlers. Serve as the main point of contact for CAT on product support topics for European built CAT branded telehandlers. 
  • Stay current with new product designs and issues in order to ensure Caterpillar can provide seamless support services to its Dealer network.  
  • Execute the customer first philosophy by solving issues rapidly and correctly the first time to ensure customers (CAT and Caterpillar Dealers) confidence in the product is maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide the needed assistance to CAT during the course of troubleshooting and diagnosing any product issues related to the operation and functionality of JLG built CAT branded telehandlers
  • Consult with and assist the appropriate JLG Product Support Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Product Safety and Reliability, Quality and Manufacturing personnel to resolve complex machine issues
  • Represent the Caterpillar Alliance Group Product Support department in New Product Development program meetings
  • Ensure proper service, support, and troubleshooting information is available at product launch to the market
  • Execute product reviews on Prototype, Pilot and Stock machinery and report findings to the required departments
  • Serve as the interface between CAT and JLG during field follow activity, work with Caterpillar to timely receive the needed information, and ensure the feedback received is communicated and properly actioned by the correct departments within JLG
  • Maintain the CAT Alliance Website, keep the published information up-to-date and upload new revisions of manuals and/publications as they are released
  • Review, on a regular basis, CAT telehandler goodwill claims.  Manage the EAME budget for CAT telehandler goodwill.  Raise awareness to any issues, and ensure the information contained within goodwill claims is raised to the appropriate CAG resources for resolution
  • Serve as the point of contact to Caterpillar for Work Tools used on CAT branded telehandlers
  • Review, with a focus towards proper service and supportability, new Operator, Parts, Service Manuals and other publications applicable to CAT branded telehandlers
  • Manage the process whereby detailed feedback is provided to JLG Technical Publications in order for the required updates to be made to any manual or publication
  • Assist the warranty department in reviewing warranty claims on CAT branded telehandlers; ensure any new issues are brought to the attention of CAG Quality
  • To go along with the customer first philosophy, must be willing to provide on-location dealer support for critical or time-sensitive: high-priority issues, investigative problem solving, or goodwill efforts.  This may include any region(s) where European-based telehandlers are sold/shipped
  • Provide periodic onsite factory support for certain commercial or operational activities.  Must also be open to travel to JLG US and EU production and engineering facilities, when outside need arises
  • Work effectively as a part of a small team and display flexibility and versatility both in skillset and attitude 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum level of Education needed: Vocational Education / University of Professional Education
  • 2-4 years of related experience in assembly, diagnostic and repair of telehandler and/or mobile hydraulic equipment
  • Driving license and Rough Terrain Fork Lift certification
  • Fluent at least one European language (Dutch, French, German) and have a good understanding of both written and spoken English (corporate language)
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems and hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing equipment
  • Optional: Experience and knowledge of older telehandler models
  • Ability and desire to learn with training and materials if no knowledge exists
  • Thorough knowledge of product features, machine application and operating parameters is necessary
  • Able to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and drawings in the resolution of machine issues
  • Able to interpret mechanical and machine drawings in the resolution of machine issues
  • Gasoline and Diesel engine diagnostic and troubleshooting experience
  • As part of your job you will travel approx 20% of your time in Europe and/or US.
