Sales Director Germany (M/W)

An opportunity has arisen for the position of Sales Director at JLG Deutschland GmbH. The main purpose of the role is to manage our growth and distributors in Germany. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales for Central Europe.


Responsibilities
  • To compile a business plan for the sales of the JLG range of products within German markets as defined in our strategy
  • Prepare and manage annual P&L Budget for region of responsibility
  • Report to Regional HQ results and progress to plan, prepare annual and monthly forecast.
  • To manage the regional sales team (10 FTE)
  • To implement the plan in accordance with the corporate strategy
  • To manage our distribution network and direct sales
  • To establish/retain market leader status
  • To create  the level of customer awareness of JLG and its products within the market place
  • To sell equipment at the necessary price up to a pre-agreed discount matrix
  • Evaluate customer needs for new opportunities
  • Drive customer satisfaction by evaluating sales, sales support, service and technical support
  • To generate business from new customers
  • To liaise with product management on new products and existing equipment
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are reasonably assigned by the employer

  • Sales experience in mature & emerging markets
  • Experience in aftermarket sales
  • Ability to understand the Customer’s Needs
  • Pragmatic and strong manager
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Ability to communicate and present information at all levels; ability to write/work with and present business plans and forecast business trends/expected results
  • Strong negotiation skills

Requirements
  • At least 8 years of related sales experience
  • Strong business development skills
  • Familiarity with access equipment, heavy machinery/industry, trucks or the automotive industry
  • Vocational Qualification in Sales or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Fluent in German and English. Knowledge of any other European languages is a plus
  • Willing  and able to travel
  • Main role location would be Bremen’s region
  • To pro actively implement sales & marketing campaigns in order to remain within the quarterly and annual plans
  • To plan and participate in trade shows within the agreed budget. when necessary
  • To adjust the distribution strategy in order to remain in line with the market evolution
  • To collect market intelligence to build a Sales Strategy and to recommend strategic plans and reviews
  • Visit customers on a periodic basis
  • Prepare sales, service and support reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends and implementing corrective action
  • Evaluate products, services and technical support in order to improve sales opportunities
  • Recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities and service changes
